Summer Program FAQs

What are the dates of the summer program?
Each year the starting date varies, but our program typically runs for ten weeks from the end of May through the end of July.

How many summer associates are in your program?
We usually hire between two and four summer associates.

What are the hours for summer associates?
The firm has flexible daytime hours for associates and there is no specific total hours requirement for summer associates. The general guideline is that you should be at the office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.; however, if you want to come in early or stay late, it is fine to adjust your schedule accordingly. If you find yourself regularly working longer hours, you probably have too much work and should speak up!

How much input will I have regarding my mix of work?
We try to give each summer associate a variety of assignments, touching on areas such as patent prosecution, litigation, pro bono, post-grant, and agreement work. If you have a particular interest, let us know and we’ll do our best to match that interest with an ongoing firm project.

How do I get feedback on the work I’ve done?
The attorneys you’re working with will provide feedback on specific projects as the summer progresses. You will also receive mid-summer and end-of-summer evaluations.

What if I need to take a day off over the summer?
Take a day off!

What is the dress code at Wolf Greenfield?
We are “business casual” every day and those wearing jeans on Fridays make a $1 donation to a firm-sponsored charity. Of course, we expect all employees to dress appropriately when attending court or client or other professional meetings.
