Andrea Merin counsels clients on patent preparation and prosecution in the areas of mechanical technologies, with particular emphasis in injection molding equipment, automotive and medical device technologies, and consumer products. Her practice also focuses on patentability and clearance to market studies and on patent infringement opinions. She has represented clients ranging from startups to large corporations. Andrea also served as judge for the Giles Sutherland Rich AIPLA Moot Court competition and for the BPLA Invented Here! event.

Prior to joining Wolf Greenfield, Andrea was awarded a New England Law | Boston Judicial Fellowship and served as a Law Fellow to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court. In this role, Andrea assisted Justices in all phases of criminal and civil litigation, prepared draft decisions, legal memoranda, proposed jury instructions, and worked extensively with Justices on trials, hearings, and motion sessions.

Andrea’s graduate work was in the area of materials science, with a focus on using silk fibroin for targeted drug delivery.
