Wolf Greenfield achieved a victory on behalf of Ramen Hood, LLC, owner of a restaurant in the Grand Central Market in Los Angeles, featuring vegan Asian-themed cuisine, in an opposition proceeding before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Based on prior use of its mark RAMEN HOOD, our client opposed registration of two marks comprising the term RAMEN HOOD with a design, also for Asian-themed cuisine. The TTAB found confusion likely and sustained the opposition. Our client will now be able to obtain federal registrations for its RAMEN HOOD marks and will enjoy nationwide rights.
The Wolf Greenfield team consisted of John L. Welch and Kira-Khanh McCarthy, working closely with Dorothy Richardson of Shumaker Mallory LLP.
