Wolf Greenfield Shareholder Jeffrey Hsi Honored by Rutgers Law Association

On March 29, shareholder Jeff Hsi was honored by the Rutgers Law School Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA) at the annual Mela Dinner. Mela, meaning “gathering” in Sanskrit, is a school-wide event that welcomes new and returning students to the Rutgers Law community and commemorates Asian-Pacific American achievements in the legal field.

The Rutgers Law APALSA was established in 1976 and is dedicated to the admission and retention of Asian Pacific American law students, particularly those who will go on to help the legally underserved Asian Pacific American community. Members work to foster awareness of legal and social issues that affect this community and strive to build relationships with other groups and students interested in law and justice.

In honoring Jeff, a Rutgers Law alum, Rutgers Law APALSA Treasurer Michael Kim said, “Characterizing Dr. Hsi as a scientist, inventor, entrepreneur and counselor only begins to describe the surface of his work. In addition to his scientific and legal careers, Hsi volunteers, including promoting the legal interests of Asian Americans through voting rights work and his current directorship in Asian Americans Advancing Justice - AAJC (Asian American Justice Center), where he chairs the Policy and Programs Committee, and his past leadership positions in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) and the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM). His service to the Rutgers Law community is deeply appreciated and his career is an inspiration to current students.”
