Overview

Cassandra Baloga focuses her practice on complex intellectual property litigation, with particular experience in patent and trade secret matters involving high-technology industries.

Cassandra represents clients in sophisticated intellectual property and technology disputes in federal court and manages all phases of litigation. She leads and coordinates discovery efforts, including directing document review teams, preparing discovery requests and responses, conducting witness interviews, and corresponding with opposing counsel to resolve discovery issues. Cassandra drafts pleadings and substantive motions, including discovery motions, motions in limine, and summary judgment filings, and supports deposition strategy by preparing outlines, leading witness preparation, and second-chairing depositions.

She works closely with expert witnesses on critical technical issues, including drafting expert reports and trade secret identifications, and prepares patent infringement and invalidity contentions. In addition to litigation, Cassandra has experience conducting intellectual property diligence and internal investigations, including analyses of infringement, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate issues to inform case strategy and business decision-making.

Prior to joining the Wolf Greenfield, Cassandra was an associate at two other global law firms where she focused on IP litigation, representing clients in patent and trade secret matters. Cassandra also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Joel H. Slomsky of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Before attending law school, Cassandra worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer for a global aerospace and defense company, where she collaborated with engineering and program teams throughout the product lifecycle—from design and procurement to implementation and final delivery.
