Overview
Jackson Cacioppo assists clients with patent preparation and prosecution in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and biotechnology sectors. Jackson has extensive experience in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. Prior to joining Wolf Greenfield, Jackson worked as a patent scientist at an Am Law 200 law firm.
Jackson obtained his PhD in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His graduate research focused on the kinetics of the intramolecular Schmidt reaction and drug discovery for tuberculosis. Jackson also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Office of Technology Commercialization at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, coordinating prosecution and licensing of chemical and biological technologies.
Jackson received his BS and MS degrees in chemistry from Northeastern University, where he researched organic synthesis directed to infectious diseases and chemical biology. While at Northeastern, Jackson also gained industry experience performing characterization of drug substances within the process development team at Amgen.
