Overview
Cyrus Jin assists the Biotechnology Practice in matters related to patent prosecution. Cyrus has deep scientific experience in areas including targeted protein degradation, protein enzymology and biochemistry, structural biology, proteomics, and immunology.
Cyrus’s research has focused on investigating the structural and biochemical underpinnings of targeted protein degradation as a therapeutic modality. As a graduate student and postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in the laboratory of Dr. Eric Fischer, he utilized a combination of biochemistry, structural biology, and various omics-based technologies to characterize native and ligand-bound E3 ubiquitin ligases.
Prior to his doctoral studies, Cyrus conducted undergraduate research at UCLA investigating the biochemical and physiological roles of protein arginine methyltransferases, and completed a summer internship in the Immunology Department at Gilead Sciences.
Cyrus also has previous patent prosecution assistance experience, having interned as a Scientific Analyst at a biotechnology-focused law firm, where he assisted with patent application preparation, office action responses, and IP due diligence.
