Overview

Kenton Weigel assists the firm in patent prosecution in areas related to chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science. Kenton supports the firm’s clients by utilizing his background in organic chemistry, thermodynamics, polymer science, and chemical biology.

Kenton joined Wolf Greenfield from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Chemistry. His research at MIT focused on elucidating the structural features that make the chaperone protein DnaJB6 an especially strong protector against protein aggregation and neurodegenerative disease.

Prior to MIT, Kenton earned his PhD in chemical engineering from Cornell University. During his graduate research, Kenton designed and synthesized a library of recognition-encoded oligomers for use in directing the self-assembly of polymer and nanoparticle building blocks into precise 3D architectures for materials applications.
