
Lin Li, PhD
Overview
Lin Li counsels clients on a broad spectrum of intellectual property (IP) matters, including patent portfolio development, strategic counseling, and dispute resolution. She works with a diverse range of clients, from cutting-edge start-ups to multinational corporations, providing tailored IP strategies that align with their business goals.
With a strong technical background, Lin’s experience spans artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, digital health, energy technologies (including storage and electric charging infrastructure), image processing, machine vision, wireless communications, and semiconductors. She frequently collaborates with clients developing innovative products that integrate both hardware and software.
Lin’s practice encompasses various aspects of patent law, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting freedom-to-operate analyses, and advising on IP terms in licensing and transactional agreements. Lin also has litigation experience in ITC proceedings, district court cases, and post-grant reviews, which she leverages to enhance her patent prosecution and counseling practice.
With an international perspective, Lin regularly advises clients on cross-border IP strategies, helping clients navigate global patent filings and international dispute resolution.
Before transitioning to IP law, Lin gained hands-on technical experience as an R&D engineer at a leading semiconductor company, giving her a deep understanding of the industry and the challenges faced by technology innovators.

- Supported litigation efforts in US courts and before the PTAB, including conducting prior art searches and preparing infringement, non-infringement, and invalidity contentions.
