Madeline (Maddie) R. McNear

Madeline (Maddie) McNear assists the firm in contested trademark matters. She brings experience in trademark prosecution, brand protection, and anticounterfeiting work across the fashion, luxury goods, and consumer products industries.
Prior to joining Wolf Greenfield, Maddie was a legal extern at an intellectual property law firm, where she prepared client reports and responses to office actions from USPTO examiners for clients ranging from Fortune 1000 chemical corporations to individual artists and publishers. She conducted trademark clearance searches, researched specimens, and managed trademark portfolios for more than 20 clients, including enforcement of their registrations. She also served as a legal extern at a global fashion holding company.
Maddie has interned in the legal departments of a luxury goods company and a brand management and apparel company. She has experience drafting cease and desist letters to infringing targets, preparing memoranda on trademark infringement cases, conducting compliance checks on repeat offenders across websites and social media platforms, and initiating infringement and counterfeit takedowns. She also has experience drafting sales representative and nondisclosure agreements, assisting with licensing and retail lease agreements, and conducting trademark clearances with the USPTO and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
