Wolf Greenfield Helps Client Geotab Prevail Over NPE For The Third Time

Wolf Greenfield achieved a victory on behalf of client Geotab, a global leader in IoT and connected transportation, in a patent infringement lawsuit in the District of Delaware brought by non-practicing entity (NPE) Inventergy LBS, LLC (“Inventergy”). When Geotab made clear that it would challenge the validity of the patent in court and through the inter partes review process at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) should the case proceed, Inventergy dropped the lawsuit.

This is the third time Wolf Greenfield has helped Geotab with lawsuits brought by NPEs. In January 2016, Wolf Greenfield achieved a victory in the Eastern District of Texas on behalf of Geotab, which was sued by an NPE. Click here to read more. Within two months, Wolf Greenfield achieved another victory in the Eastern District of Texas—without a shot being fired—on behalf of Geotab, which was sued by another NPE. Click here to read more.

The Wolf Greenfield litigation team (which included Michael Albert and Jason Honeyman), working in close cooperation with Geotab’s in-house team (Derek Smith, Laurence Prystawski and Dirk Schlimm), was gratified to achieve this victory for Geotab.
