Wolf Greenfield Sets New Standard in Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) Associates Fund Drive
We are pleased to announce that Wolf Greenfield recently completed a successful fundraising campaign supporting the Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) Associates Fund Drive. For the eighth year in a row, Wolf Greenfield raised more than any other participating law firm. The firm raised over $100,000—the first time any law firm has ever raised over $100,000 for the drive—to support the work of GBLS on behalf of domestic violence survivors. In total, the drive raised over $500,000 for GBLS.
The drive benefits the GBLS Family Law Unit, which provides legal assistance and representation to low-income survivors of domestic violence to restore them and their children to an economically sustainable life free of abuse. With COVID-19 prompting people to be home more frequently, the domestic violence risk has risen, causing this work to become even more critical.
Led by Wolf Greenfield attorney Stuart Duncan Smith and former Wolf Greenfield attorneys Ethan Marks and Michelle Nyein, every associate, counsel and technology specialist in both Boston and New York contributed, with the firm’s shareholders providing matching funds.
“To say I am proud of our team is an understatement,” said Tim Oyer, President and Managing Partner of Wolf Greenfield. “We strongly believe in the vital work GBLS does to support individuals who need it most, and we are glad we can do our part in continuing to support their efforts.”
Wolf Greenfield’s contributions to GBLS are part of its efforts to increase legal representation for those who cannot afford it. Each year, members of the firm lobby state representatives and senators to increase public funding for civil legal aid, and members of the firm regularly volunteer their time with GBLS and other legal aid organizations to represent clients pro bono.
