Wolf Greenfield Shareholder Rich Giunta Named Managing IP’s PTAB Practitioner of the Year
Wolf Greenfield shareholder Rich Giunta has been recognized as the PTAB Practitioner of the Year in the 2021 Managing IP Awards. Rich is Chair of Wolf Greenfield’s Post-Grant Proceedings Practice and led the firm’s Electrical & Computer Technologies Practice for more than 15 years.
The Managing IP Awards, now in its 16th year, is regarded as the premier IP law firm awards event in the legal industry, covering a broad range of IP practice areas and more than 30 jurisdictions. The Practitioner of the Year award recognizes the outstanding achievements of an individual at a law firm.
Rich has successfully represented patent owners and petitioners in 149 contested matters before the PTAB, including inter partes review (IPR), covered business method (CBM) review, and post-grant review (PGR). Rich’s track record of success is first-rate. He has prevailed on issues of first impression numerous times, and in matters with more than one billion dollars at stake. Rich has represented leading companies like Sony, Google, RPX, Mediatek, Becton Dickinson and Smith & Nephew, as well as leading academic institutions like the University of Florida and the University of Minnesota.
The Managing IP Practitioner of the Year award is the latest recognition of Rich’s accomplishments by leading legal organizations. Patexia Inc. has ranked him in the top one percent of all attorneys in the United States for success rate and activity for the past four years, and IAM Patent 1000 recommended Rich nationally for post-grant proceedings.
