firm founded by Ezekiel Wolf
Since our founding in 1927, our focus has been exclusively IP. Whether representing multinational corporations like Sony and Wayfair, life sciences institutions producing life-saving technologies like Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer, prestigious universities and research institutions like Memorial Sloan-Kettering, MIT, and Harvard, or “unicorn” start-ups, our firm is structured around providing the highest level of service, quality, and value to clients whose IP is at the core of their business.
More than 90% of the firm’s practitioners have science or engineering degrees, more than 70% hold advanced degrees (MS, PhD, or MD), and more than 50% have industry experience in science or technology. As a result, our professionals speak the language of scientists and engineers and get up to speed quickly, allowing them to work more effectively and efficiently.
We know that IP doesn’t exist in a vacuum. We learn our clients’ businesses and apply our knowledge of their industries, competitors, and markets to create IP strategies that simultaneously enhance the value of their IP and achieve their business goals.
We began as a family firm, and though we’ve grown by leaps and bounds, our firm is still a place where people know not only each other’s names, but the names of each other’s children and which sports they play. Our market-leading retention rate means that our attorneys stick around and build strong, long-lasting relationships with each other and with our clients—many of whom have worked with us for decades.
We believe we have a professional obligation to give back to our communities and promote equal access to justice for all. We are deeply committed to doing pro bono legal work and supporting community organizations that provide legal services to those without the financial means to pay for an attorney. Our firm is only as strong as the communities in which we live and practice law each day.
Diversity and inclusion are integral parts of our culture and are critical components of our firm goals of innovation, teamwork, and providing our clients with optimal service. We are dedicated to promoting a collegial and familial atmosphere, setting diverse hiring and retention goals, and mentoring new team members.
As lawyers, we not only have a marked obligation to strengthen our communities and progress the public interest, but we also believe this work is critical. Whether assisting vulnerable populations with free legal aid or leveraging our resources and skillsets to help nonprofit organizations – we maintain our commitment to providing pro bono legal services to those in need.
We understand the responsibility we have in helping our communities thrive and we have a passion for helping others. Our commitment to making a positive impact together starts within our own walls. Through our dedication to volunteerism, we aim to build and promote a positive firm culture, where teamwork, community, and collaboration are at the forefront.
Maintaining relationships with former colleagues is important to us – whether we’re announcing an alumni event or educational opportunity, spotlighting a former Wolfie’s latest endeavors, or helping alumni find new career opportunities – we’re committed to building lifelong relationships with the Wolf Greenfield network through our alumni program.
