Richard J. Anderson
Overview
With nearly three decades of experience as an intellectual property attorney and law firm Chief Operating Officer (COO), Rick Anderson works closely with firm management to guide Wolf Greenfield’s business functions. Known for his innovative approach to strategic operations management, Rick oversees the areas of finance, legal services, operations, information technology, human resources, legal recruiting and professional development, and business development with a focus on continued improvement. He is at the helm of strategic planning efforts, helping to develop the firm’s strategic plan and ensuring that all facets of the business are executing it.
Prior to joining Wolf Greenfield, Rick was the COO of Fish & Richardson, where he had global responsibility for all firm business services functions, including oversight of the firm’s financial management. As part of this role, he served as a member of the firm’s management committee and chaired the firm’s intake committee, which evaluated new business opportunities and managed business and ethical conflicts. Prior to becoming COO, Rick co-founded Fish’s Minneapolis office and led the patent practice across offices. He also served as the firm-wide hiring principal during a time when the firm’s number of offices tripled.
