Andy P. Golden, PhD
(he/him/his)Overview
Andy Golden assists the Electrical & Computer Technologies Practice in patent prosecution. He brings more than twelve years of industry Research & Development (R&D) experience across medical devices and life science tools, with technical knowledge spanning microfluidic cartridges, point-of-care diagnostics, lab-on-a-chip platforms, data science, and manufacturing processes. Andy is a named inventor on more than 65 patents and applications.
Andy's industry career was focused on new technologies, primarily at early-stage start-ups. He has led R&D workstreams in CRISPR-based point-of-care molecular diagnostics, nanofluidic chip development for long-read DNA structural variant detection, 3D-printed orthodontic devices, blood coagulation diagnostics, diabetes test strips, vascular implants, and HIV/AIDS point-of-care platforms.
Prior to joining Wolf Greenfield, Andy earned his PhD in biomedical engineering from Boston University, where his thesis focused on microfluidic hydrogels for microvascular tissue engineering. He subsequently completed a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, where he contributed to publication of research on the IonFlux lab-on-a-chip platform. His work has appeared in Lab Chip, the Journal of the American Chemical Society, and Assay and Drug Development Technologies, among other publications.
