How can AI help IP practitioners?

AI Use in Daily Practice and Specifics for IP Practitioners (Part 4 of 4)

In Part IV of this four-part video series titled Generative AI and the Practice of Law: Practical Uses, Limits, and Strategic Adoption, Matt Grady introduces how to use AI in daily practice: how to engage in responsible and ethical technology adoption, using human intelligence to create prompts that provide the correct context for the best results, and how to validate AI work product. He covers the difference between purpose-built AI tools for lawyers and the better-known (and free) versions of generative AI like ChatGPT, and how to use the two together. Next, Matt discusses AI specifics for patent drafting, from how to create a claim drafting framework for AI, to dangers and pitfalls of AI usage in IP law. Specifically, he discusses patent prosecution and AI usage in Section 101, 102, 103, and 112 rejections, and foreign and continuing prosecutions, and how and where AI can help patent practitioners.
