Kira-Khanh McCarthy
Overview
Kira McCarthy’s practice focuses on trademark and unfair competition issues, such as domestic and foreign trademark prosecution, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) proceedings, trademark investigation and enforcement, and federal litigation. Kira likewise has experience with copyright matters, including filings with the US Copyright Office and contested matters.
Prior to joining Wolf Greenfield full time, Kira was a summer associate at the firm in 2019. During law school, she externed at the TTAB. At the TTAB, Kira assisted in matters including inter partes contested motions, concurrent use, and accelerated case resolution. In addition, Kira previously served as an extern at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where she conducted legal research related to US and international copyright law. Her experience also extends to artificial intelligence copyright matters and privacy law.
Kira graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where she focused her studies on intellectual property law. Before attending law school, Kira was a department coordinator at a Washington, DC law firm, where she assisted with USPTO filings and patent prosecution.
Experience
- Took leading role in several ex parte appeals before the TTAB, including oral arguments.
- Assisted in successful transfer of numerous domain names under Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy.
